Masked robbers assault couple after kicking down front door

COVINGTON, Wash. - A husband and wife were assaulted in their home Tuesday morning after three intruders kicked down the front door.

King County sheriff's deputies were called to the 25700 block of 160th Place Southeast around 1 a.m.

A dispatcher answering the 911 call could hear someone in the background shouting "where's the safe?"

The suspects ran away in different directions when deputies arrived, the sheriff's office said.

The couple was hit in the head with a rifle and pistol. They were taken to the hospital.

Two children were home during the robbery but were not hurt.

The suspects all wore masks. They also wore hooded jackets -- one red, one white, and one black.
