A young woman was attacked and raped at knife point and robbed in her Thurston County home on Friday night.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says at about 10:12 pm Friday, the 23-year old woman was alone her home in the 8200 block of Union Mills Rd SE when her dog began to bark incessantly.
When the victim went to let her dog out of the back door, she was confronted by a knife wielding male suspect. The suspect forced his way into the victim's residence and sexually assaulted the victim.
The suspect then demanded that the victim give him all of the cash she had on hand and the keys to her car. The suspect stole the victim's car.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t think the attack was random.
“This may be some sort of stalking case. Our victim doesn’t know who this person is but we think the suspect knows who she is,” said Lt. Greg Elwin, a spokesman.
The suspect is described as a thin white male who is approximately 5-foot-10. He was wearing a dark colored hoody and dark colored pants. The suspect had a red non-descript handkerchief or bandana covering his face.
The stolen vehicle is a white 1999 VW Jetta with WA license plate AFA5251.
Surrounding law enforcement have been alerted about its distinct appearance.
“It has a custom white paint job with pink pearl luminescent in it so when the sun hits it the right way, it reflects pink and the emblem on the Volkswagen is pink as well,” said Lt. Elwin.
If you see the vehicle or have information about the suspect you are asked to call the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office
