A burglary victim uncovered a major trafficking operation after using an app to track his stolen iPad to a home on Capitol Hill.

Upon searching the residence, Seattle Police officers found numerous computers, computer part, high-end bicycles, liquor bottles, Rolex watches, and methamphetamines.

Dectectives said they immediately recognized the suspect and location as involved in the trafficking of stolen property.

The 41-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property. Many of the items found at the home appear to be from recent burlaries near this location.

Seattle Police said their investigation started on the morning of Friday, November 2nd, when an officer responded to an overnight burglary at a business. The victim had arrived at work to discover that his iPad was stolen.

After speaking with officers, the victim used a cellphone app to track the stolen iPad to a house near 12th Avenue East and East Mercer Street.

Officers accompanied the victim to the residence, where he was able to positively identify the stolen iPad.

The suspect claimed he purchased the iPad online, but had no record or details from the transaction.
