SEATTLE -- Two people who were shot and wounded in the Rainier Valley neighborhood Tuesday evening have both died.

The victims, ages 41 and 33, died at Harborview Medical Center.

The shooting happened near 9400 Rainier Avenue South around 8:00 p.m.  Seattle Police say the two victims were shot in the parking lot of Maya's Restaurant.

As of late Tuesday night, it wasn't known how many suspects police were looking for, but the shooters were still on the loose.

Police and detectives from the gang unit were on scene investigating.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Seattle Police Homicide Tip Line at (206) 233-5000. Anonymous tips are welcome

This is one of several shootings that have taken place along Rainier Avenue South this year. Earlier this month, Seattle Police decided to dedicate additional officers to the neighborhood in an effort to curb violent crimes.

One victim had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to HMC unresponsive, CPR was performed the entire way. The second victim was conscious had two gun shot wounds in the arms, and one gunshot wound to the buttocks with no exit wound. He was also taken to HMC. Both were in their 20s according to the EMT. Originally the victims were going to be taken to the nearby Safeway parking lot but due to the severity of the wounds and the status of the first victim they were rushed to HMC. Based on initial reports a loaded handgun was taken from the victims. This is based on information from the scanner. I hope the two pull through this tragedy.
