The 2006 Chevy Colorado pickup truck belonging to the victim of a Marysville homicide was recovered Friday night in Arlington. Police say it had been set on fire.
At about 10:45 p.m. Friday, the North County Regional Fire Authority responded to what was originally reported to be a house fire, but responding firefighters found only the burning vehicle.
Snohomish County Sheriff's Office deputies also responded and discovered the vehicle was part of the homicide investigation. Marysville detectives, along with the Snohomish County Fire Marshall, responded to the call and collected evidence that could be linked to the homicide.
Arthur Schroeder, 82, was found stabbed to death in his home on Thursday night.
Schroder had a troubled past, serving 20 years in prison for having sex with under rage girls in the 1980s. He had been out of prison just over eight years.
