The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to a hit and run that left 32-year-old Messay Asfaw dead in October.
Around 7 p.m. on October 25, Asfaw was driving north on Interstate 5 when his 1997 teal Toyota Corolla was struck by another vehicle.
The force of the collision sent his car across the freeway where it struck a cement barrier. Asfaw died of injuries from the incident.
Detectives think a brown or copper semi may have hit the Corolla. WSP asks for help identifying a truck
He was an Ethiopian immigrant who had a degree in Business Administration and Information Technology from Addis Ababa University.
Asfaw moved to the U.S. in 2008 and worked at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel while attending North Seattle Community College and supporting his elderly mother in Ethiopia. He had hoped to earn a degree in information technology after finishing at NSCC.
