Sketch released of suspect who tried to kidnap girl in Lacey

Police are on the lookout for a man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in Lacey on Sunday.

Thurston County Sheriff officials released a sketch of the suspect. The victim told police the man grabbed her by the arm and tried to force her into his car in the 7000 block of Merkel Way NE in the Thompson Place neighborhood around 6:20 p.m.

The girl sustained some minor scratches and marks to her arm.

The suspect is described as a younger Hispanic man, 5’8” tall with a scar or burn mark on the left side of his face. He is described as having a skinny build with dark skin and a dark buzzed cut hair. The girl said the suspect was driving an older beat-up, dark green Honda with peeling paint.
