The King County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double shooting in Maple Valley. Detectives believe they happened at a home at the 26500 block of 233rd Ave SE in Maple Valley.

According to the sheriff's office, at around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday a 38-year-old Maple Valley man was the victim of a home invasion. The suspects tied him up, stole drugs, money and guns from an open safe in the house, and left.

As they were leaving, the victim broke free, grabbed one of his guns and opened fire on the suspects as they drove away, a spokesperson for the sheriff said.

Two people were reportedly shot. One was a man in his 30s who was shot in the face and driven by someone to a nearby 7-11 at Witte Road and Maple Valley Highway. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Police said he is conscious and his wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.

The other victim was a woman of unknown age who was apparently shot in the buttocks. She drove herself to Valley Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.

According to the King County Sheriff's Office, both victims are believed to have been involved with the home invasion robbery in some capacity.

Police said there was also a report of a car tied to the shooting that was driving down the road with its passengers dropping guns out of the car. Police recovered the firearms.

They are questioning a number of people at the house, but according to a department spokesperson, everyone seems to be telling different stories.

A neighbor said that a man jumped into a car shortly after seven or eight shots were fired. The car was accompanied by another vehicle.

"One of them was jumping in with his leg in the window and the other car was chasing after them," Melissa Graham said. "I guess they were shooting in our neighborhood...they were shooting at each other."

No one was in custody.
