NORTH BEND, Wash. -- An intruder fatally stabbed by a woman in a North Bend, Wash., home as the stranger fought with her husband has been identified.
King County sheriff's Sgt. Katie Larson identified the man on Tuesday as 48-year-old Kenneth Boonstra, who also lived in the town about 30 miles east of Seattle.
Larson says investigators are confident Boonstra is the same man who broke into the home 12 hours earlier and assaulted and robbed the woman. She says detectives are awaiting DNA testing results for positive confirmation.
Larson says Boonstra has no criminal history that her department is aware of.
The King County medical examiner's office says the man died of multiple stab wounds.
The couple suffered no significant injuries from the fight early Monday. The sheriff's office has not identified them.
Sgt. Cindi West said investigators don't believe the residents knew the intruder and there's nothing to indicate why the house was attacked.
