One inmate was hospitalized and another is being questioned in connection with a stabbing at the Monroe Correctional Complex Friday afternoon.
A 33-year-old male inmate was stabbed multiple times at the prison just after noon.
Monroe Police Department spokeswoman Debbie Willis said the victim's injuries are not life threatening.
Willis said the suspect is a 21-year-old male inmate at the same facility. He's accused of using a homemade weapon in the attack.
Norah West, a communications specialist with the Department of Corrections, said the prison is in "restricted" status while the investigation continues. She described that as being similar to a lockdown.
