Police found gloves, duct tape and a wig in the car of a 28-year-old Lakewood man Friday after a woman accused him of following her.
Aaron Johnson was arrested for violating a protection order against the victim, a 26-year-old woman from Bonney Lake. Johnson has a history of rape, kidnapping, harassment and burglary, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Inside his car they found a woman's wig, over-sized sunglasses, black gloves and a roll of duct tape.
"Only Johnson knows what his plans were, but one thing is for sure. This young lady is safe and sound with him behind bars," Trooper Guy Gill said in a statement.
According to troopers, the woman called 911 frightened, reporting she was being followed by Johnson's black BMW. She said she noticed the car behind her from the area of Joint Base Lewis-McChord to the Puyallup Fairgrounds.
When troopers caught up to him in the parking lot of a grocery store, Johnson claimed he was meeting a friend at a restaurant. Troopers asked him the name of the friend, to which Johnson reportedly replied: "I don't know, I got to call her."
Johnson was booked into the Pierce County Jail.
