At least two Snohomish County charities have been victims of gasoline thieves in recent months.
Everett’s Volunteers of America food bank serves about 5,300 people per month, but there may be less food to go around in the coming weeks because they’ve been hit by the thieves twice in two months.
"We've tried locking gas caps, parking our trucks under streetlights, nothing works," said the food bank’s Leeann Geiger.
The thieves have gotten away with enough diesel to pay for 1,500 meals.
"It's really frustrating," said Geiger. "We are just here to try to help people in the community and they're stealing from us.”
The Cascade Boys and Girls Club in Everett has also reportedly been targeted.
