A Wisconsin man is jailed in Tacoma Tuesday, arrested for the brutal murder of his step-brother.
Jeffrey James Vogelsberg, 28, was arrested at Joint Base Lewis-McChord late Monday night. Officials said they plan to charge him with first degree murder as soon as he is extradited to Wisconsin.
The suspect's step-brother, Matthew Graville, 27, of Mazomanie, Wisconsin was last seen on June 30.
In a news conference Tuesday, Wisconsin's Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney broke down in tears as he recounted details of the murder, stating Graville had suffered severe abuse and was found frozen in a shallow grave area outside of Madison.
Graville had Asperger’s syndrome, officials said.
Vogelsberg could face additional charges for hiding a corpse.
His wife is an active duty soldier at JBLM, Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies said.
