Sheriff’s deputies were investigating a fatal shooting in Shoreline Thursday afternoon.
The King County Sheriff’s Office said the incident started as a confrontation involving two men and a woman in the front yard of a home on North 145th Street near Densmore Avenue.
"They were fighting," said neighbor Judie Darby. "I heard scuffling back and forth and then I heard two, three gunshots."
Within minutes police arrived at the home and found a man had been shot once in the chest.
Police detained the other man and the woman and believe one of them pulled the trigger. Police don't believe the man who was killed lived at the home, but they said everyone involved knew each other.
While the attack was not random, neighbors said it feels a little too close for comfort.
"It's a real quiet neighborhood and it's surprising. Very tragic," said Noel Jasper Rauch, neighbor.
Detectives towed a red truck believed to belong to the victim from the scene. Deputies were continuing their investigation and creating some traffic backups along North 145th Street.
