Seattle Police say officers on Wednesday recovered an abducted child just 28 minutes after receiving a 911 call.

Police say at about 2:55 p.m., officers responded to a 911 report of an adult female suspect who took a 2 1/2-year-old child from Mary's Place shelter in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue.

Police say the suspect, mother and child were in the shelter's common area with other adults and children.  When the mother turned away from her child for a moment, the suspect left the building with the child.

Multiple officers responded to the call and began an intensive search.

Crisis Intervention Team officers located the suspect and child at 7th Avenue and Olive Way at 3:23 p.m.

The child was unharmed.

The 33-year-old suspect was arrested and subsequently booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Kidnapping.
