Bail has been set at $150,000 for a 35-year-old man accused of attempting to rob a jewelry store in downtown Seattle and shooting at a security guard who tackled him in the streets.

Edmond Maynor appeared at his bail hearing Saturday. It was unclear whether he had an attorney yet.

In a probable-cause statement, Seattle police say Maynor pointed a gun at the owner of a jewelry store in Westlake Center Friday morning. A gunshot was fired in the store and the suspect fled. Police say Maynor was confronted by a security guard from a nearby hotel and shot the guard in an attempt to get away.

The guard still managed to tackle the suspect and passers-by helped hold him down until police arrived.
