2 suspects arrested after Spanaway store clerk shot

New video shows the search for the suspect who shot a female convenience store clerk in Spanway Thursday.

SPANAWAY, Wash. -- Two people are in jail after a female clerk at a convenience store in Spanaway was shot during a robbery Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 2:35 p.m. at the Pacific Quickmart located at 167th Street and Pacific Avenue S.  According to Pierce County Sheriff's Office, a masked man walked into the store, demanded money from the clerk and ended up shooting the clerk, a 30-year-old woman.

The suspect, described as a black man wearing a dark shirt and jeans, fled the scene in a white 2000 Ford Taurus wagon with two other people. 

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect taken from the store.

After a two-hour search, deputies tracked down a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's car in Tacoma. A man, a woman, and a child were detained. Late Thursday evening, the sheriff's office confirmed the suspected shooter and the getaway driver were under arrest.

The victim was taken to Tacoma General Hospital and was last listed in stable condition.
