SEATTLE - Among the many customers loyal to Toyota is Congressman Jim McDermott, who drove away today in his third Toyota Prius.

"I've had cars since 1973 that were Toyotas. You have problems, you fix 'em. The nice thing about Toyota is they didn't try and hide it. They didn't try and say we're not going to do something about it. They said, bring them back in here, and we'll fix them and that to me is the way you deal with the problem," said Rep. McDermott.

In the wake of the company's massive worldwide recall involving a possible faulty accelerator pedal, those who have been driving Toyotas for years insist they're still confident in the cars and the brand.

"No I'm not worried. We've owned Toyotas for 30, 40 years and never had a problem with it. So this is a fluke and they're going to fix it," said Malinda Lewis.

It's the kind of reassurance managers at Toyota of Seattle are happy to hear and they're hoping that brand loyalty will get them through this bump in the road.

"We've seen sales slow, certainly, we've seen I guess traffic slow down. The calls are still coming in and questioning us. What's going on? Is it safe to purchase?" said Melissa Miller, assistant general manager at Toyota of Seattle.
