A few fall bargain destinations

This has been a great year for travel. Airline prices were cut, hotel rates were cut and vacation packages were cut. Now, though, air fares are going up. But there are some travel deals still out there.

If you want to stay close to home, check out "ExperienceWa.Com" for great bargains in the state of Washington.

For an overall look, try the travel Web site "SmarterTravel.Com." Editors there say Colorado is a great bargain destination for the fall. For Europe, SmarterTravel says try Ireland.

In a recent article, the New York Times pointed out that Latin America -- particularly Argentina -- remains a great bargain destination.

Of course, the bottom line for keeping your bottom line tight is: shop around. Look at the Oct. 27 "Save Me Money" story called "Shop around to get the best deal." That shows the different totals delivered for the same trip.
