The Build-A-Bear Workshop is recalling 284,000 Colorful Hearts teddy bears sold in the U.S. and 13,200 sold in Canada.

The company says the eyes on the teddy bears can fall out, creating a choking hazard for young children. There have been no reports of injuries.

The Colorful Hearts Teddy is a stuffed animal about 16 inches high with black plastic eyes. The bear’s fabric covering is printed with multi-colored heart shapes.

It was sold nationwide and online at www.buildabear.com from April 2011 through December 2011 for about $18 in the U.S. and $23 in Canada.

Consumers can return the bears to any Build-a-Bear store for a coupon for any available stuffed animal.
