Video: Tim's 'out the door tips'

Out The Door Tips are about saving, fun, efficiency, good deals -- you name it! If it's a good idea, we'll pass it along! Today's tips include:

1.) You can often download a coupon for prescription medications. Not everyone thinks of it, but it's a good idea to simply do an online search for your medication, go to their Web site and look for a coupon.

2.) Put dryer lint to use! This one comes to us from KING 5 photographer and Eagle Scout Adam Tischler. Simply use your dryer lint as the "kindling" for your fireplace fire! It works really well, so make sure you take care when you light 'er up!

3.) The Broadway musical "Wicked" is in Seattle, at the Paramount Theater, from Sept. 2 to Oct. 4. Each day, two-and-a-half hours before show time, you can go down to the Paramount in person and put your name in a lottery. A half hour later, the Paramount will draw names and if yours is chosen, you're entitled to two orchestra-seating tickets at $25 each. You must pay in cash.

4.) GovernmentAuctions.Org is a great Web site where you can find bargains. The site aggregates all the governmental Web sites in the U.S. and is reportedly very busy these days!

And as always, we urge you to let us know about your tips and deals. Anything's game! Just drop me a line at or you can use the Save Me Money story submission form.
