Washington State Patrol troopers have not yet determined what caused a car to drive off a Tacoma overpass Wednesday, killing the driver.
Fifty-eight-year-old Scott W. Jablon of Federal Way was killed when the car landed on its top. It came to rest in the northbound lands of Interstate 705.
Troopers said Jablon was driving his 2007 Ford Taurus southbound on SR 509 and exited south of the Thea Foss Waterway Cable Bridge.
Jablon's car struck a concrete traffic island on the left side of the ramp at a high rate of speed, causing the car to leave the roadway and go through the concrete barrier on the right side of the ramp, off the overpass.
Jablon was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
WSP has not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
