TACOMA, Wash. – The LeMay America’s Car Museum opened its doors next to the Tacoma Dome Saturday.

Hundreds of rare and beautifully built cars dating back to the start of the 1900s are on display inside the 165,000 square foot museum, which sits on 3.5 acres. It includes a banquet hall, meeting space and a café and restaurant.

Opening day festivities Saturday included an outdoor car show, food vendors and beer garden. Seattle Mariners legend Edgar Martinez signed autographs and there was an evening concert featuring Grammy winners Asleep at the Wheel and Tacoma native Kim Archer.

Admission to the museum is $14 for adults; $12 for seniors 65 and older; $12 for military personnel; $8 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 years old get in free.  Discounts are available for AA members and State Farm policyholders.
