A major disaster drill will take place Wednesday on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, likely acting as a distraction for drivers.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will host agencies such as the Tacoma Fire Department, Washington State Patrol and WSDOT to participate in the drill for a catastrophic scenario.
The bridge will remain open throughout the entire exercise.
Exact details are not known, but officials said teams will conduct most of the drills under the bridge on the westbound side.
The drill is expected to last about four hours.
Drivers can expect to see law enforcement vehicles and officers in uniforms, but officials said its important to remember it is a training exercise.
