A suspected drunk driver in a stolen car was arrested in Tacoma after accidentally dialing 911 while the phone was in his pocket, police say.
The News Tribune reports 911 dispatchers received a call late Tuesday night and could hear a woman screaming and a man telling her to stop. Police tracked the phone to the 4300 block of South D Street.
As officers tried to pull the driver over, the vehicle stopped and a woman got out of the car and ran. The man kept driving, pursued for a short time by police before he eventually stopped and got away on foot.
Police say the same phone again called 911 Wednesday morning and police tracked it to the 4800 block of South Wilkeson Street where the man and a woman were found in a different vehicle, intoxicated. Both were arrested for different reasons.
