An Army soldier stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord died in Afghanistan Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.
Pfc. Brandon L. Buttry, 19, of Shenandoah, Iowa, died Nov. 5, in Kandahar province, officials said.
Buttry was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
