A West Seattle couple has been touched by an outpouring of public support following the theft of an  American flag from their home on the 4th of July.

The flag was used to drape the casket of Duff’s son, Roger, after he was killed in Vietnam in 1972. So far, it has not been returned.

Sharon Kennedy said multiple people have offered them flags that have covered other caskets.

On July 4, Duff and Sharon returned home from watching fireworks to find the flag, which is about 6 feet, by 10 feet, missing.

They are asking for it back and are willing to buy a new flag for the people who took it. The Ron & Don Show on KIRO Radio has offered a $500 reward for the return of the flag.

If you have information about the flag, you can email mpittman@king5.com and we’ll help return the flag.
