A University of Washington student whose body was found on the grounds outside a residence hall committed suicide, said the King County Medical Examiner's office.
The student has been identified as 20-year-old Brandon S. Thomas. His hometown was not given.
The medical examiner said Thomas died of blunt force injury to the trunk.
A passerby found Thomas in a wooded area outside McMahon Hall Tuesday.
Immediately after the body was discovered, the balconies were locked.
