Two children received minor injuries on Saturday when their mother accidentally drove a pickup truck through the family's home.
Just after 8 a.m. Saturday, David Odukwe was watching TV with his two kids as his wife started her truck to go to work.
“I heard a bang noise and I ran through the living room to see what happened,” he said. “By the time I ran back the car was right here.”
The force of the crash sent a dining room table flying into the backyard - taking Odukwe’s daughters with it.
The 5-year-old had a cut over her eye, the 10-year-old a cut on her leg.
His wife was in shock.
“That car would have went off the cliff, she'd be dead,” said Odukwe.
He said a back yard project may be the reason she's still here. Stacks of cement blocks intended to build a retaining wall stopped the truck.
“An angel was here for sure,” said Odukwe.
“Versus just having an accident and repairing the house and repairing the car it could have been a life changer,” said neighbor Leslie Folsom.
The Sheriff's Office said no drugs or alcohol were involved.
The family planned to stay with relatives while repairs were made.
