SEATTLE -- Students at a Seattle high school walked out of class Friday in support of a teacher accused of assaulting a student.
South Lake H.S. students rallied for about 30 minutes, displaying signs and T-shirts in support of the teacher, Andrew McCool.
On Wednesday, police were called to the school after a 17-year-old student claimed McCool slapped and choked him.
But the students who rallied Friday said McCool would never hurt a student.
"I've had his class since he started at South Lake and he's never done anything to make me feel uncomfortable or make me feel unsafe," said student Carthella Fulton.
McCool has been placed on leave while the school and police investigate.
