SEATTLE - Jason Paur is jailed in Canada while some students and staff at the Bush School in Seattle are stunned by what the long time coach and substitute teacher is accused of doing.

The Bush School's Head of School, Frank Magusin, said he found out Tuesday, December 10th that Paur had been arrested.

"I mean it is disturbing and troubling," said Magusin. "We had no forewarning of anything. In fact, he has been a very popular coach among students and parents."

Paur is the cross county skiing and cross country running coach as well as a substitute teacher for the Bush School.

This week Paur was with eleven high school students and three adult chaperones on a school sponsored ski trip to Silver Star Ski Resort in British Columbia.

"We were called by one of the chaperones on the trip to just say that students found a camera running in their room," said Magusin.

The discovered camera appeared to be recording video in a room belonging to female students. In a letter from the school to parents, it states, "Paur admitted he placed the camera in the room."

Police in Vernon, B.C. were called. Paur was arrested. He has been charged with three counts of voyeurism, three counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, one count of possession of child pornography. and one count of accessing child pornography, according to authorities in Canada.

"My greatest concern is for our kids and for their families. I think it is hard when trust is broken, and that is what this community is trying to manage right now," said Magusin.

Students returned home from the ski trip early. As for Paur, he has already appeared in court, but he reportedly did not enter a plea. Paur is due back in front of a judge on December 18th.

For the last 17 years Paur has worked on and off for the Bush School, according to Magusin. The school said Paur underwent criminal background checks that never revealed a criminal record.
