Downtown Seattle's 200,000 daily commuters are driving less and less, with two-thirds now choosing not to drive to work alone.

A new Commute Seattle survey conducted by Gilmore Research Group reveals that 34 percent of workers drive alone. That's down from 35 percent in 2010 and 50 percent in 2000.

  • 43 percent of downtown workers take mass transit.
  • 43 percent commute by car, when combining people who drive alone and who rideshare.
  • 6 percent walk.
  • 4 percent telecommute.
  • 3 percent bicycle.

Rail, bicycling, teleworking and walking are the fastest growing commute modes.
