The Seattle Fire Department rescued a 67-year-old man who spent the night trapped inside his car after he crashed it into a ravine.
Neighbor John Shearer found the car early this morning and called 911. It went right through his fence.
"I was going to work and I found this vehicle so I asked if anyone was inside and the guy in the car said help me," said Shearer.
When the Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene near Lake City Way Northeast and Northeast 120th Street, they secured the car with ropes to keep it from sliding down the embankment. Rescue crews also had to cut the roof off so they could reach the driver.
"He was actually crammed under the dashboard and that would make sense with the impact," said Kyle Moore, spokesperson with the Seattle Fire Department.
Moore said the driver was conscious and alert when they reached him. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with minor injuries.
Investigators don't know why he ran off the road.
