The search for a 59-year-old Central Kitsap man who disappeared in the waters off Blake Island may resume Monday.
The Kitsap County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team identified him as Gerard Martin Hall. Hall was last seen around 11:50 a.m. Sunday while diving off a boat with a 38-year-old man from Bremerton.
Hall and his dive partner were spear fishing in 30-foot deep water about 40-feet from the shore of Blake Island.
Deputies said both men surfaced after when a fish was speared and Hall yelled that he needed help. The dive partner swam over to Hall, and he disappeared under the water.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Seattle Fire, Port Orchard Police, and South Kitsap Fire assisted in the search, providing several boats. The search was suspended around 6:00 p.m. due to weather and poor visibility.
