A failed underground cable cut power for nearly 3,000 customers in Seattle's International District Saturday.

Seattle City Light said the power outage started around 10:30 a.m. and was restored by mid afternoon, but the outage caused some big problems for a lot of people.

People packed the neighborhood for the annual Dragon Fest and dozens of businesses set up booths.

Business owner Aaron Crosleycone said if the outage had lasted an hour longer, he would have closed his business for the day. Crosleycone has owned his pizza shop for three years and has seen the power go out five times during that time.

The outage pushed people to their porches on one of the hottest days of the year so far, and helped water fountains become even more popular.

Thankfully, by 3 p.m. the were back on and business was back normal. That helped sales heat up too.
