Members of Westboro Baptist Church were once again countered Thursday when they showed up to protest in downtown Seattle.

Following morning appearances in Olympia in which hundreds of community members responded with messages of peace and diversity, Westboro's downtown protest was blocked from view by people holding up pink sheets.

Counter protesters made positive signs and surrounded the Westboro group on the corner of 4th Avenue and James Street, outside the King County Administration Building.

About a dozen Westboro members tried to shout over the crowd, but they were outnumbered by about 30 counter protesters.
