A new poll on the Seattle Mayor’s race taken after the first televised mayoral debate on KING 5 last week shows incumbent Mike McGinn gained little ground on his challenger, Sen. Ed Murray.
In a sampling of 557 likely Seattle voters by SurveyUSA, 52 percent said they would vote for Murray if the election were held today. 32 percent said they would vote for McGinn. 15 percent were undecided.
The question had a margin of error of ± 4.2 percent.
A similar poll taken last month showed Murray at 52 percent and McGinn at 30 percent.
Whether either candidate won the debate apparently had little bearing on the results. Only 26 percent of those polled said they watched last Wednesday’s debate.
