A man was hurt Sunday morning in what police are calling "an act of vandalism gone awry."
Police say an explosive device attached to a city electronic parking pay station exploded.
SPD 911 center received a call around 12:30 a.m. from the Emergency Room at Swedish Hospital with a report that the man had been injured.
"Nurses at Swedish Hospital called and said you know there's this guy here with this really weird injury; it looks like something exploded on him," said Seattle Police spokeswoman Renee Witt.
The man said he was walking with a friend near NW 54 St and 32 Ave NW when they heard an explosion. The man said he was struck in the arm by something and was bleeding. He and his friend flagged down a passing car to drive them to the hospital.
