North Seattle attack
SEATTLE – Police say early Saturday, the owner of a condo and his fiancee were stabbed by a male roommate who attacked them while they were sleeping.
Neighbors say Kevin Bell's fiancee had just moved in and he wanted his roommate to move out.
"The conflict evidently was with the roommate, who was asked to leave and didn't want to leave,” said neighbor Earlin Bowen.
Bell jumped out the window and tried to get help for his fiancée, but it was too late. She died at the scene.
Bell was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Friends who saw the couple Friday said they were excited about their future together.
"He had purchased a Christmas tree and decorations and was very happy,” said Bowen.
Police arrested Bell's roommate. He's been booked into King County Jail. He is being held on a suspicion of homicide charge and is expected to make his first court appearance next week
He does have a criminal history that includes DUI and allegations of assault.
