Part of Seattle's nearly 200-foot tall ferris wheel on the waterfront is beginning to take shape.
Friday, construction crews raised and placed the legs that support the axle of the Seattle Great Wheel.
The Great Wheel is being constructed on Pier 57. Enclosed gondolas, equipped with heating and air conditioning, will carry tourists and locals 175 feet into the air over Elliott Bay.
Officials called Friday's construction "tricky and hazardous."
The wheel could be open for business by June.
