Drivers with weekend travel plans should prepare for a number of closures, specifically on Interstate 405, that could affect their drive.

All northbound lanes of I-405 will be closed through downtown Bellevue this weekend for concrete panel replacement. The NB lanes between State Route 520 and Northeast 70th Street will reopen by 4 a.m. on Monday in time for the morning commute.

Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, the ramp from northbound State Route 167 to northbound I-405 will close so crews can install a drain pipe.

The construction closures will probably have the greatest impact on Saturday for fans headed to watch as the Mariners inducti Ken Griffey Jr. into their Hall of Fame.

The Washington State Department of Transportation says drivers should plan ahead and use other routes, or consider alternatives like transit or carpooling.

In addition to the I-405 shut down through Bellevue, NB I-405 will be reduced to one lane between State Route 520 and Northeast 70th Street in Kirkland from 2-7 a.m. Sunday and 1-5 a.m. Monday.

On Interstate 5, the northbound and southbound off ramps to Corson Avenue South will close from 9 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Crews are replacing expansion joints and resurfacing both sections of ramp during the closure. Next, crews will resurface the I-5 ramps to South Spokane Street as part of that project.

These construction projects aren't the only thing affecting weekend travelers on the roads. A number of events around Seattle could cause slow downs.

Some of the events throughout the weekend include the South Lake Union Block Party, Mariners games Friday through Sunday, Seattle Street Food Festival on Capitol Hill and more.
