SEATTLE -- Police are investigating a hit and run collision in downtown Seattle.
Around 3:45 p.m., a bicyclist was hit by an SUV at Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street.
Earlier reports from the scene indicate that the bicyclist died but Mayor McGinn's office tells KING 5 that the bicyclist is in critical condition and on life support. There was no new updates on his condition early Friday morning.
The SUV is described as a brown American-made SUV with tinted windows and a chrome rack on the roof.
Bicyclists said Dexter is typically a safe street to ride, but cars can sometimes dart across several lanes.
