A 42-year-old Renton man died Monday afternoon when he was hit by a car on SR 18 just east of SR 164.
The Washington State Patrol says at about 12:30 p.m., the man, who was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound, stopped, got out of the car and laid down in the road.
A tractor-trailer being driven by a 60-year-old Texas man struck the man in the road. The man died at the scene.
The road was closed for 3 ½ hours for the investigation.
