A motorcyclist killed in a crash in West Seattle Sunday has been identified as a former Tukwila City Councilman.

According to the Seattle Times, the King County Medical Examiner identified the man as David Fenton, 67.

Fenton served on the Tukwila City Council for eight years.

Seattle Police are investigating whether Fenton and the driver of a car were racing at the time of the crash.

Fenton's motorcycle hit a pole near the intersection of West Marginal Way Southwest and Highland Park Way Southwest around 2:00 p.m.

Officers are looking for the suspect vehicle, described as a black import car with tinted windows, two hood scoops, and a rear spoiler.
