RENTON, Wash - Police were checking several vehicles in the East Renton Highlands neighborhood after armed robbers during an early morning home invasion told the residents they rigged their car with explosives.
King County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cindi West said three armed men broke into a home in the 10200 block of 128th SE just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. Once inside, they stated, "We are looking for something."
The men fired shots out a window of the house, but didn't aim at anything specific. No one was injured.
The men told the resident or residents who lived in the house they had rigged their car with explosives, then fled the scene.
Deputies checked all three cars at the residence for any possible explosives and were trying to determine if the attack was random.
Meanwhile, deputies asked nearby residents to voluntarily evacuate the area during their investigation.
