The Seattle Police Department is asking for help in locating Shaka Shomari Barquet, a prolific burglar known for breaking into homes while people are asleep.
Dectectives have connected Barquet to at least four residential, nighttime burglaries committed in three Seattle neighborhoods: Capitol Hill, North Seattle, and South Seattle.
The Seattle Police report it is possible Barquet committed additional break-ins in South Seattle and the Central District.
The suspect has been known to stay in South Seattle, Renton, and Federal Way.
In each of the break-ins, people were asleep in the house. There were also children in some of the homes.
Items stolen include jewelry, purses, cell phones, home electronics, and two guitars from one home. SPD says Barquet has also committed identity theft and fraud, using the stolen credit cards.
He is described as a 25-year-old black male. Barquet is 5'10" and 190 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
Barquet is considered armed and dangerous. He was previously convicted of possession of a firearm.
