More hospital workers are joining the picket lines in Olympia as the strike at Providence St. Peter continues into its third day.
More than 150 workers with Providence Soundhome Care and Hospice will picket starting Wednesday morning. They are joining the hospital workers who have been on strike since Monday. Both groups plan to strike until Saturday.
While the workers who have been striking appreciate the support, they really want the hospital to address their concerns about rising health care costs.
Union representatives say the hospital's new health plan will cost an additional $150 to $250 in deductibles.
Providence St. Peter is using replacement workers during the strike.
