A stolen car and assault suspect is in jail after he leads Thurston County Sheriff deputies on a chase into Lewis County.
The incident started around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 11300 block of Little Rock Ave SW just south of Olympia, deputies responded to a report of an elderly man who was assaulted at his home. The suspect fled the area in the victim's car.
Deputies located the stolen vehicle and chased the suspect down I-5 to Lewis County. Washington State Patrol troopers put spike strips on the roadway which the suspect ran over before he repeatedly rammed a Thurston County patrol vehicle. The deputy inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The suspect was soon after taken into custody.
The elderly victim was taken to a hospital, his condition is unknown.
