Taekwondo students in Olympia had their fundraising money stolen Tuesday night, but the thief quickly learned he messed with the wrong group.

"It's like you don't steal from martial arts, you just don't," student Vegas Rohaly said.

The kids brought a tip jar to a restaurant for a special fundraiser, when a man walked in, grabbed the jar and ran outside.

"We were raising money to go to Colorado Springs," said student Auburn Rohaly.

Junior instructor David Hurley took off after the man, calling 911 along the way.

When Hurley caught up to the man, he talked to him until police arrived.

Unfortunately the cops found the tip jar empty. But the students plan to perservere and compete in Colorado.
