OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Health officials in Olympia are concerned a lot of people may have handled a dead bat that was infected with rabies inside a Jo-Ann Fabric Store.

The dead bat was found on a store shelf on September 9 while the two customers were in the store's Halloween section.

The Thurston County Public Health and Social Services had the bat tested for rabies.

On September 14, rabies test results came back positive.

The two customers who found the bat were given rabies shots.

Thurston County health officials are now asking anyone who may have touched the bat inside the store between September 2 and September 9 to call 360-867-2500.
